About the Role:
The In-House Driver Recruiter at Tralo Companies is responsible for sourcing, hiring, and retaining qualified CDL drivers to meet operational needs. Based in Owatonna, MN, this role ensures a smooth recruitment process, and compliance with DOT regulations, and fosters strong relationships to support driver satisfaction and retention.
What You'll Do:
Driver Recruitment
Develop and execute strategies to recruit CDL drivers through various channels, including job boards, social media, referral programs, and industry networking events.
Conduct phone screens, interviews, and pre-qualification assessments to ensure candidates meet company and DOT requirements.
Relationship Building
Establish and maintain positive relationships with prospective and current drivers to promote retention.
Serve as the primary point of contact for driver candidates throughout the hiring process, ensuring a seamless and professional experience.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure all candidates meet DOT and company hiring standards, including background checks, drug screenings, and driving record reviews.
Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities, candidate progress, and compliance documentation.
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with the operations team to understand driver staffing needs and hiring timelines.
Work closely with marketing to create effective recruitment campaigns and materials.
Develop and implement driver onboarding programs to ensure new hires are set up for success.
Monitor driver satisfaction and address any issues that may impact retention.
What You'll Need:
Proven experience in driver recruitment, human resources, or a related field (transportation industry experience preferred).
Familiarity with DOT regulations and CDL driver requirements.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with recruitment tools, ATS software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
