Trancy Logistics America, a leading provider of international forwarding and warehouse management services, is seeking an HR Generalist at its San Antonio Distribution Center. This location provides dedicated warehouse services for a Tier-1 supplier in the automotive industry. This position is responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position reports to the Assistant Manager of HR.
Human Resources
- Acting as a liaison between employees and management for all human resource and benefits issues.
- Maintaining personnel files and human resources information in HRIS system (Paylocity).
- Handling employee recruitment process, setting up position advertising and screening initial applicants based on the job description and required qualifications.
- Conducting candidate interviews.
- Providing administrative support for the hiring process, including setting up background checks, reference checks, and pre-employment drug testing.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the employee roster on a daily basis for Operations and working with staffing providers to fill open positions.
- Conducting new employee orientation for temporary and permanent employees on basic HR and company policies.
- Implements employee recognition programs.
- Handling employee enrollment in medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401k, supplemental insurance, and any other formal benefit plans including coordinating information with insurance providers and plan administrators.
- Handling employee concerns and/or complaints and facilitating resolutions with involvement of HR and managerial staff as appropriate.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Tracking progressive disciplinary process by maintaining proper personnel files, including HRIS system.
- Monitoring performance appraisal system to ensure timely and proper evaluations of each employee.
- Handling termination procedures and paperwork, including exit interview, termination of benefits, and issuing any legally mandated information (COBRA, 401k information, etc.)
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintains compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Handling other HR administrative functions as directed.

Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in Human Resources or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to five years of related work experience which includes work in HR or related field. Familiarity with Paylocity or similar HRIS systems and Microsoft Office is required. General use of office equipment including phones, copier, personal computer, etc. is required. Required skills include excellent verbal and written communication, excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines. Must have the ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. A strong candidate for this position would demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, customer service skills, and dependability.
