Job Summary：

Designer I is an entry level position that plays a pivotal role in creating 2D and 3D designs that will be used in manufacturing to produce customer specific units. By leveraging their expertise in CAD and Trane Technologies proprietary software, they will help bring a customer’s expectations to life.

Where is the work: 

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. 

What you will do: 

• Work the engineers to generate job-specific equipment drawings in support of the engineered-to-order process.
• Produces designs and documentation utilizing computer design and product life cycle management systems.
• Documentation of parts and bills of materials
• Develop a good working knowledge and familiarity of design and drafting standard practices, methods and processes
• Work from oral engineering instructions or written procedures, schematics, drawings and sketches.
• Ability to lead small segments of large projects with responsibility for completion of assignments. Exercise sound judgment in recognition of potential design problems.  Detects and corrects own errors.
• Maintains competency level of computer aided graphic system and other applications through company provided training and materials.
• Must be customer driven, innovative and quality minded in performance of all assigned duties.
• Develop and exercise good communication skills.
• Maintains awareness and adheres to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
• May be required to occasional travel to various locations to support products or train other personnel.
• Receives generalized information and instruction pertaining to assignment from engineers or senior staff.  Work direction, content and accuracy reviewed by engineers or senior department members.
• 5% of travel time

What you will bring:

• Associates degree or 4 years of experience using computer aided graphic solutions in lieu of degree
• Must understand basic principles of designing equipment, drafting, and computer-aided design and apply principles to assigned tasks
• CAD Experience: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or ProEngineer
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Must be able to function in a technical engineering team environment
• Must have the ability to handle multiple, varied tasks simultaneously
• Must be able to adjust to changing demands, priorities and objectives

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $55,000-$65,000

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
