Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician I will assist in Mechanical Engineering projects to evaluate manufacturing processes and develop new tools and procedures. They must have the ability to clearly communicate technical details, generate reports, and present to management teams.
Responsibilities
- Plan, produce, modify, or assemble production tools and mechanical devices
- Create and update Standard Work Charts
- Conduct tests or trials of tools, equipment, and processes
- Estimate labor costs, tool / equipment requirements
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices on safety and ergonomic improvements.
- Create reports and presentations to update team members and management on project status and progress
- Track and report productivity impacts of projects
- General duties to work with the operations team driving root cause and corrective actions for issues pertaining to safety, quality, and customer delivery driving the implementation – Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering fundamentals.
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- 3D Modeling / Drafting (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD)
- Ability to create drawings in compliance with ANSI/ASME Y14.5
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and welding techniques
- Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes and tools
- Fabricate prototypes for new production tools and machines
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician or related role
- Automation, robotics, and controls experience a plus
