What You Will Do
- Manage the Trailer product through the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision.
- Develop a vision for the product that includes knowledge about timing, resource implementations, tradeoffs and competitive landscape data.
- Demonstrate market leadership in crafting product roadmap for an Electrified Vehicle and Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) future while maintaining balance between short-term and long-term profitability objectives.
- Visit customers face-to-face to understand customer needs from their business point of view
- Interact with engineering to ensure product design, quality, reliability and profitability goals are met.
- Communicate product roadmap and plan with Business Unit product growth team (PGT); coordinate the plan with functional partners.
- Coordinate with the marketing and sales teams to develop and implement a marketing strategy and plan, including targeted programs and promotions for each new or updated product/service or extension.
- Interact with the commercial team to review and adjust the distribution strategy for each product/service line based on performance.
- Advocate the strategy roadmap to the broader organization.
- Develop compelling communication around the value proposition and differentiation to competitive offers and or alternative solutions.
- Understand organizational culture and can fully operate across organizational boundaries.
- Lead the execution of detailed demand planning for all product/service lines based on input from industry, market and competitor analyses.
- Work independently to manage and lead standard management routine activities pertaining to Product Growth Teams (PGTs), driving all meetings, measuring metrics, conducting analytics and utilizing an effective visual management system.
- Apply a Multi Generation Product Plan (MPP) in creating a vision for the product/service.
- Builds Collaborative Relationships – Establishes and maintains effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including cross-functional business partners and Thermo King dealers; seeks to understand and anticipate the needs of others, practicing attentive and active listening.
- Analytics – Solid analytical and communication skills while being comfortable with analyzing, interpreting, and organizing data, as well as turning data into business case.
- Business Acumen – Demonstrated ability to provide effective support on a broad range of activities requiring attention to detail and understands how the business functions; is aware of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace.
- Drive for results – Is willing to roll up sleeves to get things done.
- Comfortable with Ambiguity/Complexity – Can shift gears comfortably and handle risk and uncertainty; will change direction when needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or other technical-related degree, Master's degree preferred, but not required.
- A minimum of 7 years of product management, sales, or other relevant experience.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Must have a strong technical aptitude and the ability to work across different functions
- Strong financial acumen is required.
- Excellent organization skills and flexibility to handle a variety of time sensitive tasks and projects.
- Knowledge of the transport refrigeration business and trucking industry preferred, but not required.
