Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients to enhance their quality of life.
- Monitor and report changes in clients’ health status or behavior to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Help clients with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records as required by healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings including clinics, teaching hospitals, and trauma centers.
Skills
- Experience in medical-surgical environments or familiarity with Level I and Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of geriatric care practices and principles.
- Ability to work effectively in both inpatient settings and outpatient clinics.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient care and advocacy.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while demonstrating independence when required.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine practices is a plus.
