What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outpatient Counselor position at Tranquility Woods?
Hours- Monday-Friday 9am-5pm &- 12-8pm.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Substance Use/ Addictions Counselor to join our team! You will be supported in implementing evidence based treatment modalities to clients in individual and group settings. Treatment specific tasks include formulating therapeutic goals; and being an essential part of a small, dedicated multidisciplinary team. Qualified candidate must be licensed in Maryland as a registered and/or Certified Addictions Counselor from a recognized education/ training program for addiction services, credentialed CSC or Higher.
The position for IOP Counselor currently offers a 4/5 day work week (Mon-Friday). The IOP counselor is responsible for the management of the IOP program including accepting admissions and recommending discharges, Individual sessions, treatment plans and groups.
Responsibilities:
Counsel and advise individuals and groups with substance use disorders
Develop and implement individual treatment plans
Establish treatment goals and celebrate milestones with clients
Qualifications:
Previous experience in counseling, social work, or other related fields
A belief in team strengths driven by a can do attitude
Experienced with ASAM
Compassionate and caring demeanor
Ability to build rapport with clients
