What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesetter I position at Trans-Matic Mfg Inc?
The Die Setter will assist in maintaining and managing various production functions, which include recording production data, removing scrap, handling materials, performing cleaning on presses and tools, operating presses, and general housekeeping as needed.
As an entry-level role, it offers significant opportunities for career advancement and is considered a potential pathway to obtaining a Journeyman’s Card as an Eyelet Tool and Die Maker. Based on performance, educational assistance may also be provided.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be able to properly identify tooling (nomenclature)
- Communicate production issues such as tooling problems to work team leaders or other personnel
- Maintain adherence to production/quality IATF16949 standards
- Organize and clean a variety of areas in the plant
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as various press functions including the coolant, oil system, greasing/oil press & uncoiler, scrap removal, raw material handling, and clean-up
- Clean and prepare presses for job setup
- Manage oil inventories and storage as well as maintain the oil recycling system
- Operate a forklift and overhead hoist (will provide training)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Possesses abilities in reading blueprints
- Problem-solving skills
REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Is regarded as creative, a self-starter, and adaptable
- Has good mechanical skills
- Possesses the ability to work to close tolerances
HOURS/SHIFTS
1st Shift - Currently working a 4/10 shift, Monday-Thursday - 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
2nd Shift - Currently working a 4/10 shift, Monday - Thursday - 3:00 pm - 1:00 am
3rd Shift - Currently working a 4/10 shift, Tuesday-Friday - 9:00 pm - 7:00 am
- Schedules are subject to change to a 5/8 hour shift based on future needs.
- Night-Shift Premium paid for 2nd & 3rd shift
