What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Program Coordinator position at TransAction Associates?
TransActon Associates has an immediate opening for a Transportation Program Coordinator to work with Program Managers and directly with clients and be responsible for managing assigned projects such as those outlined below, including the administration of commuter transportation programs.
TransAction has been an industry leader and a trusted name in transportation for more than 33 years. Located in Woburn, MA, TransAction focuses on transportation demand management related consulting, including managing on-site commuter services, transportation program planning, and regulatory compliance reporting.
We are seeking an energetic, motivated individual with strong organizational skills to work on projects including:
- Coordinating a suite of commuter programs at client sites that are focused on promoting alternatives to driving alone to work, such as carpooling, vanpooling, taking transit, employee shuttles, biking, and walking with a goal of changing commuter behavior from single-occupant vehicle use to shared rides
- Assisting with conducting transportation surveys that achieve a high rate of participation
- Monitoring compliance with state and local rideshare regulations
- Planning and conducting outreach and promotional events that promote commuter services
- Maintain program data in on-line tracking systems
- Document program data and prepare regular reports
- Contribute to the development and preparation of reports and studies for clients, including analysis of data and survey results including basic research methods
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, enthusiastic, self-starter who is able to work one-on-one with management, clients, and as part of a team with coworkers. The person in this role will report out of our Corporate Office in Woburn on a hybrid schedule and will also be on-site at client locations some of the time. Marketing (including design) and event planning experience are a plus, as is a general knowledge of alternative transportation options and air quality/traffic congestion issues.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent oral, presentation, and writing capabilities
- High level of attention to detail
- Adept at planning and organizing promotional programs and events
- Ability to manage time effectively and complete deliverables on schedule
- Strong marketing, public relations skills
- Proficient with use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Knowledge of effective use of social media as a marketing tool
- Focus on customer service with ability to analyze problems and facilitate solutions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Team player who can also work well independently
- Experience with graphic design platforms is advantageous
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Planning, Transportation, Engineering or other related discipline, or
- Completion of a formal course of study reasonably related to the job and minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in business, marketing, event planning, transportation planning, environmental disciplines, and/or promotion of programs to encourage behavior change, or
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in business, marketing, event planning, transportation planning, environmental disciplines, and/or promotion of programs to encourage behavior change,
