Summary: Operates horizontal computer numerical control (CNC) machining centers to fabricate aluminum parts used in the assembly of transaxles by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (but not limited to). Other duties may be assigned.
- Complies with all TMA safety and quality guidelines/regulations.
- Selects programs to be used in production of component parts based on Kanban; loads parts onto holding fixtures by hand or with a lift assist device.
- Changes tooling in machine based on wear or damage. May assist Machining Engineer with new product or prototype parts.
- Assembles and sets size and length of cutting tools and enters data using tool pre-setting equipment.
- Measures parts for conformance based on part check sheets of finished work piece to specifications, using measuring devices, performs SPC as required.
- Actively reports any identified quality problems to Supervisor and Quality technician/Engineer and assist in resolution of issue if required.
- Completes daily Hour by Hour chart and records production and downtime accurately.
- Cleans work area and maintains the organization of work area by completing daily 5S.
- Cleans machines, internally and externally, as required to maintain good operating efficiency
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, and others to resolve machining problems.
- Reports all production daily to insure accurate inventory.
- Actively supports Kaizen activities as required to enhance safety, quality and productivity.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three (3) years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
