Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (40 hours per week total Lunch Breaks)
Job Description
The Day Porter plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of our clients' facilities during business hours. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality cleaning and customer service. The Day Porter will ensure that common areas remain clean and well-stocked, respond to immediate cleaning needs, and provide excellent service while interacting with building occupants.
Job Responsibilities
- Performing cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors and stairs.
- Sanitizing and cleaning restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Dusting and cleaning furniture, desks, windowsills, and other surfaces.
- Restocking supplies in designated areas, including bathrooms and break rooms.
- Emptying trash cans, replacing liners, and ensuring trash receptacles are clean.
- Maintaining janitorial equipment and storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Proper handling, labeling, and use of cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety protocols.
- Wearing and maintaining Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Reporting maintenance or safety issues to supervisors.
- Collaborating with team members to complete additional maintenance tasks as assigned.
Role Requirements
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact with all levels of staff, clients, and stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and manage competing priorities.
- Experience in custodial or facility management (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of floor care, cleaning techniques, and equipment (a plus).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, and walking.
