JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Regional Continuous Improvement Manager (Regional CI Manager) is responsible for partnering with Corporate Business Leaders and Plant Management Teams to develop and execute long-term growth and continuous improvement strategies. They will support multiple sites on various improvement initiatives, solving complex operational problems, optimizing time standards, eliminating production waste, building lean leadership capability, and assisting in capital projects through the AFE process (Approval for Expenditures).
Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Work with each operations team at corporate and site levels to develop the strategic action list for the year.
- Lead large cross functional initiatives related to the development and delivery of the next generation of high-performance operating systems that have a network-wide impact.
- Assist leadership teams in the planning, development, coordination, support, and execution of high impact (immediate and long term) improvement plans for effective and sustainable cost saving initiatives.
- Act as a change agent leader in instilling a Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement culture at each site and in related areas of the company.
- Coach and mentor employees on the practical application of lean manufacturing systems and CI initiatives.
- Invent, design, and implement engineering solutions to complex processing efficiency problems.
- Review plant data to identify impactful operational opportunities and drive process improvements include time studies, workflow, standard operating procedures, and proposing equipment upgrades.
- Collaborate with various teams to generate high quality, cost effective solutions in short periods of time, and simultaneously manage multiple projects while effectively influencing internal business partners.
- Support capital projects as needed – design, quotes, and help manage AFE through completion.
- Provide input for development of the capital budget for each site.
- Participate in and support quality projects and initiatives to ensure that the company achieves its goals.
- Develop and maintain a rigorous training methodology for lean skills (5S, DMS, RCA, etc.) to support lean culture development.
- Mentor and lead individuals toward lean belt certification.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Industrial Engineering or Process Engineering.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of related work experience in a lean manufacturing/repair environment with supervisory leadership skills.
- 3 years’ experience working with employees at all levels on Lean/CI improvement methodologies.
- Experience leading or supporting multiple sites required. Experience deploying transactional lean, manufacturing lean, and variation reduction methodologies.
- Strong project management: can set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Tenacity for identifying opportunities for improvements and developing solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, and uses.
- Management and team-building experience.
- Ability to travel 50% of the year across North America.

Salary : $110,000 - $150,000
