Position Summary
Candidates will use their cost analysis, forecasting, and manufacturing cost accounting skills to review and validate product costing data, monitor production efficiency and activity, and develop and evaluate standard manufacturing costs. The Senior Cost Accountant will support all functional areas by providing insightful analysis critical to the Company's strategic business decisions. The Senior Cost Accountant is a key component within our internal control structure providing assurance over the propriety and accuracy of production costs and inventory valuation.
Responsibilities
- Review and update cost accounting data and processes and validate costs by part, product line or other segment.
- Develop and maintain standard costing processes for real-time review of highly engineered fabricated products.
- Analyze manufacturing costs to validate data accuracy and completeness.
- Support periodic forecasting, annual budgeting, and customer pricing efforts by supplying complete and accurate historic and / or estimated manufacturing costs.
- Perform variance analysis on production data to identify unusual activity and opportunities for productivity improvement.
- Monitor stock and work-in-process inventory to ensure propriety of inventory valuation and accuracy.
- Perform margin analysis and work with Sales and Operations to evaluate variances from expectations.
- Support customer and government audit efforts, providing timely and comprehensive support for product costs.
- Assist with various analyses and procedures supporting the monthly financial close process.
- Other duties as assigned.
