On-site, Columbus, OH Monday – Friday, 7 – 4 -- hours flexible.
Seeking experienced Google Cloud Engineer/Architect to lead our cloud transformation. You will have a small team of developers and play a critical role in modernizing our applications, implementing robust data analytics solutions, and exploring AI/ML to enhance services.
Qualifications:
- 9 years software design, architecture, software development lifecycle methodologies, including modernizing legacy applications and application performance, profiling, and tuning.
- 5 years Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native solutions on GCP to support data analytics, application modernization, and AI/ML initiatives.
- Migrate legacy applications to modern cloud architectures using services like Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), App Engine, and Cloud Functions.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
- Develop and deploy machine learning models using Vertex AI, including AutoML and custom model training.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across GCP.
- Collaborate to gather requirements and present solutions.
- Assists in planning, configuration, and extension of MS Azure DevOps, V Net, App Service, App Proxy, Pipelines, and other PaaS offerings.
- Ensures end-user requirements and documents business processes.
- Provides post-production support for agency applications.
- Develops pass/fail testing criteria; assesses overall system performance, including optimizing code and identifying and resolving peripheral software/hardware conflicts.
- Finalizes implementation, procedures, and schedules.
- Conducts lessons learned and coordinates improvements to enterprise testing processes.
- Understands technical environments and impacts on software execution.
- Proficiency in Compute Engine, GKE, App Engine, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Vertex AI.
- Experience with Cloud SQL, Apigee, API Gateway, security tools (IAM, Security Command Center), networking services (VPC, Cloud Load Balancing), Terraform or Deployment Manager.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues and optimize cloud solutions.
- Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer certified.
