What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Director position at TRANSFORMATION CHURCH?
Position Requirements: To oversee and maintain the IT infrastructure for Transformation Church locations in Tulsa and Bixby. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day IT operations, supervising a direct report, and ensuring networking, systems, and hardware stability and security across all locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical networking, including Meraki and Ubiquiti troubleshooting, and IT project management.

HAND (Expectations Duties)
- Design, maintain, and troubleshoot wired and wireless network infrastructure using Meraki and Ubiquiti solutions
- Oversee network security, firewalls, and VPN configurations to ensure secure access and compliance
- Manage internet service providers (ISPs) and vendors to maintain optimal uptime and performance
- Implement and maintain structured cabling systems, including fiber and Ethernet connections
- Ensure network redundancy and failover solutions to minimize downtime
- Oversee all IT hardware and software, including servers, switches, routers, workstations,and AV integrations
- Manage and support ticketing, point-of-sale (POS), and access control systems in the arena
- Maintain cloud-based and on-premises servers, storage, and backup systems
- Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshoot issues for both office and arena staff
- Ensure smooth integration and support for macOS environments, including troubleshooting and managing Apple devices
- Programming and managing our Avigilon access control system, including printing badges, programming doors for events, and managing installation for new construction
- All other duties, as assigned
Strategic Leadership
- Lead major division-wide and department-wide projects by facilitating cross-departmental/team workspaces, from conception to post-project debriefs
- Leads creation of agenda and discussion of department-wide (monthly) and Team Director meetings (weekly)
- Helps the Team Directors (TD) and their teams understand and carry out the vision and strategic direction
- Tracks strategic initiatives and major projects by monitoring progress towards meeting goals, analyzing data, ensuring follow-through, and sustaining momentum needed to drive these initiatives
- Oversees department budget and stewardship of finances
Leadership Development
- Provide support, encouragement, and coaching in the development & nurturing of TDs
- Lead weekly team meetings (1:1 or group settings) in a timely fashion, with the agenda in mind to include major announcements/updates and leadership development training
- Oversees the staffing, development, evaluation, and education of TDs
- Quarterly reviews for all direct reports, including occasional Mile Markers, Performance Improvement Plans, and Corrective Action
HEAD (Knowledge Training)
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Five years in IT management, networking, or system administration, with experience in physical networking
- Strong knowledge of Meraki and Ubiquiti networking solutions, including VLANs, Wi-Fi, and VPN
- Proficiency in macOS administration, troubleshooting, and Jamf PRO
- Experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure, firewalls, and security systems
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in high-demand environments
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Experience in an arena, event venue, or large-scale facility IT support is a plus
- Supervise, mentor, and develop an IT Support Specialist (or relevant direct report)
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for IT-related projects
- Develop IT policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency
- Train employees on IT security and system usage as needed
- Plan and execute IT upgrades, expansions, and technology implementations
- Monitor and assess new technology trends to enhance the arena and office IT environment
- Ensure compliance with data security regulations and best practices
- Ability to adjust and handle multiple, high-level, fast-paced projects simultaneously
- Exceptional tact and discretion with confidential information
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient computer skills with Apple, Microsoft, and Google products and the ability to learn TC-used databases and technologies
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements
- On-site role with availability for after-hours support as needed
- Ability to lift and transport IT equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Comfortable working in an arena environment with event-day responsibilities
