This opportunity belongs to someone who wants to be a part of a team making a difference for our Navy customers. This full-time contingent opportunity is at the Navy Yard in Washington, DC working with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Office of Corporate Communication (SEA 00D).

Duties and Responsibilities

· Authors feature and straight news writing products and provides editorial support directed to a wide range of audiences; including Members of Congress, Department of Defense (DOD), industry stakeholders and the general public.

· Products include but are not limited to reports, fact sheets, press releases, website or social media and brochures.

· Consults with appropriate subject matter experts to ensure information is presented accurately.

Qualifications

· Minimum of four (4) years of civilian or military experience in corporate communications.

· Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in English or Communications or another related field.

· Experience to write and edit news copies (articles, social media posts, et cetera) according to Navy and Associated Press Stylebook.

· Experience synthesizing complex ideas and initiatives into easily understood communications for a variety of audiences.

· Experience in managing small and large- scale projects that contribute to a larger strategic communications plan.

· Experience managing competing priorities under strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail; experience working effectively with NAVSEA's senior leaders in a high- profile and demanding office.

· Experience with NAVSEA, Congress, the Navy and Department of Defense.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,906.00 - $117,590.00 per year
