GENERAL FUNCTION / SUMMARY
The Health Insurance Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for providing exceptional customer support to clients by assisting with health insurance inquiries, policy servicing, and claims resolution. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. The ideal candidate has group health insurance experience and can quickly learn and adapt to new processes.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Support & Policy Servicing
- Assist clients with health insurance inquiries, including plan details, benefits, and policy changes.
- Provide guidance on group health insurance policies, including employee enrollments, renewals, and coverage updates.
- Address billing questions, claims issues, and ID card requests, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Follow up with clients and carriers to ensure timely policy approvals and documentation updates.
- Educate clients on open enrollment (OE) processes, renewal options, and policy compliance.
Administrative Support & Task Management
- Maintain accurate client records, update CRM systems, and ensure proper documentation of service requests.
- Process policy changes, enrollments, terminations, and premium adjustments accurately.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks to ensure efficient workflow and timely customer responses.
- Assist with routine communications, emails, and service requests in a timely manner.
Collaboration & Continuous Learning
- Work closely with internal teams, agents, and carriers to resolve client issues efficiently.
- Attend training sessions and carrier webinars to stay updated on health insurance products and industry changes.
- Adapt quickly to new procedures, software, and insurance regulations to enhance job performance.
- Support cross-departmental projects and initiatives to improve overall customer experience.
Other Duties
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred experience in group health insurance, benefits administration, or customer service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively assist clients.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Fast learner with the ability to adapt to new processes and insurance guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM systems is a plus.
- Bilingual in Mandarin.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
