Location and Work
This position is available as hybrid at either our Emerald Isle, NC, or Independence, OH offices.

About the Position and Our Team
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cyber Security Analyst to join our security team. The primary focus of this role is to monitor and review security alerts, analyze potential threats, and oversee the tracking and remediation of identified vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in protecting our systems, networks, and data from cyber threats while ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices. This position will report to the Director of Information Security.
Responsibilities
Alert Monitoring and Incident Analysis:
- Continuously monitor security tools and dashboards for alerts and incidents.
- Investigate and analyze alerts to determine severity and potential impact.
- Respond to incidents following established incident response procedures.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure prompt containment, eradication, and recovery from security events.
Vulnerability Management:
- Conduct regular reviews of vulnerability scan reports and prioritize findings based on risk and business impact.
- Track and document the progress of vulnerability remediation efforts across IT systems, applications, and networks.
- Work closely with IT and development teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of vulnerabilities.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of vulnerability management metrics and reporting.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation activities.
- Prepare regular reports for management on security events, vulnerabilities, and mitigation progress.
- Identify trends and recurring issues to recommend improvements to security posture.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, DevOps, and engineering, to enhance security processes.
- Provide recommendations to improve the organization’s overall threat detection and vulnerability management practices.
- Stay up to date with the latest cyber security trends, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management tools.

Qualifications and Skills Required
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of experience in cyber security, vulnerability management, or a related role.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm) and vulnerability scanners (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7).
- Understanding of common security frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF).
- Strong knowledge of security principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g. JIRA) for tracking remediation efforts.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications (Preferred):
- CompTIA Security
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
