Location and Work

This position is located at our Independence, Ohio location. The ability to work in our office, with a hybrid schedule is required.

About The Position And Our Team

Our Product team is hyper-focused on creating products that turn our supply chain clients into raving fans. We are looking for a Product Owner with fluency in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to develop and execute a product roadmap focusing on making the complex simple. The Product Owner will work with planning, analysis, and business intelligence elements to create a workflow that makes it simple for small to medium-sized enterprises to adopt practices that put their supply chain and operation on par with the big players in the industry. We meet our clients where they are and create an experience that is both easy to adopt and easy to use.

As a subject matter expert in areas of supply chain with specific experience in sales and operations planning (S&OP), you will be the voice of the customer that assures the products thrill customers. The Product Owner reports to the product management organization but works closely with their development and UI/UX counterparts in developing the right product, and then creating artifacts and compelling positioning to launch products and features both inside and outside the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Product Management Director to prioritize roadmap elements.
  • Work with the Product Manager or Director to define business value and impact for prioritization.
  • Manage the backlog, with both high-level canvases for work several quarters out, and detailed stories & requirements for on-deck and in-process work.
  • Develop product requirements/use cases and details for the product development team to execute.
  • Work with product development to align technical roadmap, version management, and release schedules.
  • Addressing questions from internal teams on product capabilities
  • Perform internal product demonstrations with Marketing, Sales, professional services team, and channel partners.
  • A good instinct for must-have functionality vs. should-have vs. nice-to-have.
  • Work with customers and other SMEs to understand issues and nuances of work patterns to develop a superior product.
  • Be the center of collaboration with product development and UI/UX. You will define the what, and product development defines the how.
  • Work with and monitor product development activity to ensure they have the correct business understanding of requirements.
  • You will be a collaborator who knows how to allow product development and UI/UX to use their problem-solving talent to help us find better ways to create raving fans.
  • Work with customers throughout the product lifecycle to validate assumptions and get feedback on mockups, and products before it is released.
  • You will validate that the functionality built is exactly what we envision for the customer prior to release.
  • Prepare launch materials and training for internal readiness as well as external launch stakeholders
  • Monitor the use of functionality to see if it has achieved intended goals or needs to be revised.

Qualifications And Skills Required

  • BA/BS degree or 2 - 5 years or more of equivalent experience.
  • Strong preference for someone with parcel/logistics background
  • Preference for experience in Software Product Management, or Business Analyst Role
  • Empathy and an insatiable curiosity for the user experience, driven to solve customer needs.
  • Thrive in environments where you are balancing different perspectives and competing priorities.
  • An ability to collaborate and defend or modify your position as the situation dictates.
  • A technical aptitude with business savvy. An ability to speak both languages.
  • Convery complex issues in a simple manner in both oral, and a variety of written modes is essential.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
