Required Certification: NYS Elementary Certification
Description:
Summer School position for program serving identified/recommended incoming Kindergarten students.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with Kindergarten and/or early childhood children in the area of literacy and mathematics
- Experience teaching phonemic awareness and concepts of print
- Experience administering and interpreting Developmental Reading Assessment and running records
- Experience using research based early literacy and numeracy "best practices"
- Experience with math instruction using the "concrete, pictorial, abstract" framework
- Familiarity with the NYS Learning Standards
- Experience incorporating literacy centers
- Experience in a co-teaching model
- Experience using data to drive instruction
- Ability to design a child centered, early literacy program that utilizes balanced literacy principles
- Excellent communication and demonstrated success with parental involvement
*Candidates must be available to work for the entire Summer School schedule without exception.*

DATES: July 14 – August 14 (Monday – Thursday)
HOURS: 8:00-10:30 AM
