What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Bus Inspector (Contract) position at Transit Resource Center?
Position Summary:
TRC’s Bus Engineering Division is in search of a Qualified In-Plant Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team. This position will be responsible for ensuring that our client’s buses are manufactured in compliance with FTA Buy America requirements, TRC’s inspection standards, as well as our client’s specifications.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must have experience with QA in the transit, RV, marine, and/or heavy duty vehicles industries.
- Conducting quality assurance inspections of new buses in all phases of production at the manufacturer’s plant;
- Responsible for understanding client build specifications and reporting defects (or items of non-conformance);
- Responsible for reporting (written and verbal reports) all issues with production; and,
- Conducting final inspections of all completed buses before they are delivered to clients.
Skills (Preferred):
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision;
- Ability to read and understand vehicle blueprints, specifications, and drawings;
- Must have effective written and oral communication skills;
- Possess mechanical experience and understanding and needs to be detail oriented; and,
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook for reporting.
THIS IS A CONTRACT 1099 POSITION TO START WITH POSSIBLE EMPLOYMENT AFTER 6 MONTHS.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
