What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enhanced Direct Support Professional position at Transition Consults?
Do you like to spend time in the kitchen “creating” recipes for muffins, cookies and other desserts? Do you appreciate a good karaoke night? If so, this may be the perfect part time opportunity for you.
As a Direct Support Professional, you will be providing direct support for a 40 year-old man with a desire to be a part of his community. You will have the opportunity to assist him as he navigates self direction and participates in meaningful activities such as baking, shopping, visiting fire stations. He enjoys having the opportunity to be integrated in the community and needs assistance with making choices that support an independent and desired quality of life.
Days/Hours:
- Schedule to be discussed at second interview
- hours are flexible/fill-in
- Pay: $25/hr
Experienced staff will:
- Be responsible for supervision, safety, and welfare of the individual at all times.
- Assist with ADLs
- Be responsible for establishing and maintaining productive daily activities
- Provide skills training, assistance and/or supervision to the individual in the areas of community, social integration, and healthcare management.
- Provide feedback on an individual's performance in accomplishing goals and objectives of the ISP.
- Demonstrate recognition of and properly report suspected abuse and neglect.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social
Work, Gerontology or NADD certification
- Have at least 2 year experience as a Direct Support Professional or have life experience as a parent/ caregiver of a family member of a person with a disability
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Willing to obtain necessary background checks
- Provide professional references
- Be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and wear PPE while working
- Have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record
