As a Direct Support Professional, you'll provide support to a 23-year-old individual working towards greater independence and enjoying outdoor activities. Your role involves helping him develop social skills, maintain relationships, and improve independent living abilities. Ensuring safety around heat sources, bodies of water, streets, and parking areas is essential. You'll also assist with daily tasks such as personal care, bathing, and meal supervision, including helping with utensils and monitoring food intake. You'll have the chance to accompany him on outings like park visits, movies, and trips to the mall, encouraging enjoyable and meaningful experiences. Join us in making a positive impact in his life!

$23/hr

Hours:

Tuesday afternoons 1pm-5pm

Thursdays from 9am-4pm,

occasional evenings and every other Friday evening..

Experienced staff will:

-Be responsible for the supervision, safety, and welfare of the individual at all times.

-Be patient, familiar with prompting, strong communication skills

-Willingness to learn the individuals gestures and mannerisms to assist when communicating at social events

-Have experience with individuals who have IDD/autism

-Provide skills training, assistance, and/or supervision to the individual in the areas of community, and social integration

-Provide feedback on individuals' performance in accomplishing goals and objectives of the ISP.

-Demonstrate recognition of and properly report suspected abuse and neglect.

-Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

-Have a High School diploma or equivalent

-Have at least 1 year of experience as a DSP.

-Be 18 years of age or older

-Willing to obtain necessary backgrounds

-Provide professional references

-Have a valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean driving record

-Fully Covid vaccinated or willing to be for the position
