Support Service Professional

Looking for a part time job opportunity where you can combine your passion to care for people with your energy to help an individual accomplish his goals and achieve his fullest potential?

As a Support Service Professional, you will be providing companion services for a young man with autism who has a desire to be a part of his community. You will have the opportunity to support him as he navigates self-direction, independence and participating in activities such as going to the gym, trips to Philly, socialization opportunities, and grocery shopping. He needs assistance with making choices that support an independent and desired quality of life.

Pay: $18-$22 per/hr based on experience

Hours: 6-12 hrs a week (there is room for flexibility with schedule)

Experienced staff will:

• Be responsible for supervision, safety, and welfare of the individual at all times.
• Be responsible for establishing and maintaining productive daily activities.
• Provide skills training, assistance and/or supervision to the individual in the areas of community, social integration, and independence.
• Promotes social interactions in the community.
• Serve as a role model for appropriate social skills.
• Demonstrate recognition of and properly report suspected abuse and neglect.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Be on time.

Requirements:

• Have a High School diploma or equivalent
• Have at least 1 year experience as a Direct Support Professional/Companion or have life experience as a parent/family caregiver of a person with a disability
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Willing to obtain necessary background checks
• Have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record
