Accounting Manager

A growing real estate investment firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its team. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting systems, managing the general ledger, and preparing financial statements. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will also supervise a Senior Accountant.

Budget: up to $150k 20% bonus equity

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee general ledger activities, financial accounting, month-end close, and reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries for acquisitions, dispositions, and notes receivable.
• Manage accounting for joint ventures, including distributions and income allocations.
• Support quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Assist with external financial reporting and internal controls.
• Work closely with Asset Management on lease administration.
• Maintain and enhance accounting systems
• Review accounts payable entries and support tax compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred.
• Public Accounting experience required, ideally as an Audit Senior
• 5-10 years of total public/private accounting experience
• Real estate industry or experience working for a publicly-traded company strong preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting policies.
• Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Public reporting experience is a plus.
