Key Duties and Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the monthly general ledger close primarily related to construction activities, accounts and required support for assigned portfolio of properties
- Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts; prepare variance analyses on a monthly basis
- Review construction related invoices for coding and accuracy to ensure they have proper supporting documents in accordance with company policy
- Understand basic accounting principles (GAAP) and is able to apply them to day-to-day responsibilities
- Coordinate with project leads to record, monitor and reconcile construction actives. Resolve questions arising from unusual variances or fluctuations job cost activity and or construction account expenses, and provide general accounting support, as needed
- Generate standard monthly journal entries plus any other applicable journal entries with supporting documentation
- Assist outside auditors and handle special projects as needed
