A nonprofit organization, TSI is seeking empathetic and optimistic professionals to assist those with mental illness and/or substance use disorders to achieve recovery. Individuals are given the opportunity to acquire the skills and confidence necessary for independent living. Our mission is to empower individuals with mental illness to reach their full potential by providing person-centered recovery services in community residences and supported housing programs.

Provide on-site support and supervision to residents in a group home or apartment building setting. Provides instruction with budgeting, community utilization, socialization, use of leisure time, and activities of daily life. Provide trauma-informed crisis management and intervention resulting in positive outcomes. Ability to engage group of residents with mental illness and build supportive relationships

The Counselor I provides services to adults who are diagnosed with a mental illness and substance use disorder. The Counselor I will assist in facilitating groups, providing training, and acting as a resource for substance use disorder topics.

Qualifications

Must possess 1 of 2

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field; and one year paid direct service experience in a mental health or human services setting

Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable personal automobile, pass all background and drug clearances.

Starting annual salary $49,659
