Transitions of PA, a non-profit comprehensive victim service center serving Union, Snyder, and Northumberland counties, seeks a passionate, energetic, self-motivated professional to fill an Attorney position within its Civil Legal Representation law office.
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, exempt position with competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package. The attorney provides civil legal assistance and representation to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, stalking, and teen dating violence in Union, Snyder, and Northumberland Counties. Cases can include but are not limited to, Protection Orders, child custody, divorce, child support, spousal support, unemployment compensation, immigration, property, public housing, consumer issues, and Title IX grievances. Through effective civil legal representation and promoting safety and self-sufficiency for survivors, our attorney works to secure justice.
This position operates in a professional office environment and supervises a legal assistant working Monday through Friday. As job duties demand, occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Transitions is open to hiring the right entry-level attorney who is passionate about victim services and exhibits strong interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently in spoken and written form. The desired candidate is a graduate of an accredited law school, holds a current license to practice law in Pennsylvania, and has experience supervising others.
The right candidate must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a willingness to travel for the role. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required. The selected candidate will be required to have a PA State Background Check and applicable child abuse clearances through the state of Pennsylvania and the FBI.
