What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Engagement Specialist position at Transitions of Western Illinois?
As a Crisis Engagement Specialist, you will work as part of a team who responds to people in crisis and uses your personal recovery experience to provide support to others. Through outreach and engagement, you will instill hope for recovery and help people develop natural supports and problem-solving skills.
Your schedule will be a combination of daytime and evening/overnight hours on a rotating schedule and is generally a 4-day workweek. This will include occasional weekends from the comfort of home to respond as part of a mobile crisis team.
The unique qualification for this position requires one to have direct, personal experience as a recipient of mental health services and be able to share their recovery experiences appropriately in order to assist others in their journey.
