Summary

The Quality Assurance Associate (QAA) is the final line of defense for the TransMachine MTT organization and its commitment to customer quality. He or she ensures every rebuilt or replacement product conforms to TransMachine MTT’s drawing and design specifications, which also align to OEM requirements. The QAA utilizes ISO (International Standards Organization) quality practices to perform daily tasks. The role performs all first piece and final inspections for the TransMachine MTT product portfolio. The role would be responsible for maintenance of and additions to inspection documentation.

The QAA also ensures that inspected product flows to the shipping department. As such, the QAA will also cross train in customer service. The process allows the QAA to follow the product from inspection to shipment, creating ownership of the quality process up until the point the customer assumes ownership of the product. The QAA can set shipment and packaging standards to improve the customer experience.

The QAA is owner, promoter, and arbiter of the TransMachine MTT mission to drive transformational customer experiences in the mobility space by enabling uptime via replacement and rebuilt products.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect finished rebuilt or replacement product to ensure it complies with TransMachine MTT defined quality standards.
  • Define TransMachine MTT quality standards with Engineering and Operations Manager.
  • Perform first piece inspection for rebuilt and replacement product.
  • Update and maintain ISO level documentation, including drawings, for all rebuilt and replacement product.
  • Ensure front-line workers utilize in process quality checks to minimize scrap and waste, in line with the Toyota Production System (TPS) Poka-yoke methodology.
  • Support the head of customer service with optimizing the customer experience. This includes but is not limited to product packaging, shipments, and invoicing.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred
  • 1 years of quality experience
  • Experience with precision engineered components or final products
  • ISO manufacturing or similar Quality Management System experience preferred
  • MasterCAM, AutoCAD or similar CAD system experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong relationship and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills required
  • Metrics

  • Quality. The target is zero customer complaints.
  • Plant productivity. Implement front-line work in process quality checks in improve plant rebuild and replacement product throughput.
  • Documentation. Ensure that 100% of the product portfolio has ISO level documentation for rebuilt and replacement product.
