Transport Driver

Driver Job Description

Responsible for the safe and secure transporting of Medicaid and Medicare patients from one destination to another via ambulatory or wheelchair. Communicate clearly to patients while maintaining good customer service.

Job Responsibilities

Determine the most efficient route to destinations to ensure

Safely drive and operate company vans

*
Comply with all safe driving practices, policies and processes at all time

Maintain proper record of each trip, including travel times and necessary signatures

Clean and inspect the vehicle before each trip

*
Report any needed vehicle maintenance

*
Must be courteous, patient, and professional at all times, as well as neat and clean in appearance

*
Ability to drive in inclement weather

Job Skills & Qualifications

*
Able to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug screen, including the following databases: SAM, OIG, Abuser registry, Medicaid, Sex-Offender Search, Offender Search, and Nurse-Aide Registry

*
Must have had a valid driver’s license for two years with a clean motor vehicle report

*
Successful completion of First Aid Training and CPR required

*
Must understand written and oral instructions

*
Adequate vision (as corrected) and hearing ability to perform safe driving

*
Ability to lift 50 pounds

*
Ability to pass the Department of Transportation medical exam

*
Ability to transfer individuals safely entering and exiting company vehicles

*
Ability to conduct the daily vehicle inspection

*
Ability to comply with the trip-verification requirements

Complete a passenger-assistance training course approved by ODA within six months after being hired

*
No CDL requirement

• Must be 24 years of age
