Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The truck driver will perform a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation plans in support of Transpacific Processing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :

Responsible for the transportation of raw / finished product to and from warehouse and 3rd party storage
Responsible to ensure that product on BOL matches loaded product; if not phone TPF immediately
Responsible for the transportation of all finished product from the Processing Plant to the company’s cold storage facilities
Responsible for the delivery of grower packaging when requested
Responsible for planning route to insure most economical use of time and equipment
Responsible for performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to manager
Responsible for keeping truck and trailer clean at all times
Responsible for the accuracy of all daily paperwork
Responsible for reporting any food safety concern and empowered to do so
Performing all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards
Performing other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager
Comply with ODOT on random drug testing
Be licensed to operate the forklift
Must log daily mileage and keep accurate track of truck mileage
Preoperational checklist for truck is checked off daily
Preoperational checklist is completed for refrigerated trailers

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

High School Diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

One (1) year relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job

Valid State Driver’s License and CDL; request driving record annually

Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving

Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment necessary in the transportation and maintenance of vehicles

Ability to safely drive various vehicles

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, cold storage vendors and the general public

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to work independently

Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions

Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization
