Key Responsibilities
As the Director of Quality Assurance, you will lead and oversee all quality-related functions, ensuring the highest food safety standards, compliance, and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the Quality Assurance team, including the QA Manager, QA Supervisor, and other department staff.
- Quality Oversight: Take ownership of all aspects of quality assurance, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance: As the primary liaison with USDA representatives, ensure compliance with all HACCP, USDA, and Safe Quality Food (SQF) program regulations.
- Process Excellence: Develop, implement, and maintain the SQF Code, fostering a culture of food safety and quality throughout the plant.
- Collaboration: Support new product development and marketing efforts to ensure quality standards align with company and customer expectations.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Background: A Bachelors degree in a food-related field (e.g., Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology).
- Leadership Experience: At least 5 years as a Quality Assurance Director or Manager in a food processing facility.
- Regulatory Expertise: At least 5 years of experience working with USDA regulations and managing HACCP and SQF program compliance.
- Work History: A proven track record of success and a solid work history reflecting reliability and achievement.
- Residency: Live within 45 minutes of Jefferson, WI, or have the ability to commute daily.
- Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.
