What are the responsibilities and job description for the Body Shop Technician I position at Transport Enterprise Leasing?
Position Purpose :
The Body Shop Technician I is responsible for completing Body Shop repairs as outlined by TEL standards. Position Responsibilities :
- Continuously learn, share and implement improvements in all processes and responsibilities as needed to enhance effectiveness of providing world class service and support.
- Review each work order, and estimator’s notes to understand repairs needed prior to beginning work on the truck.
- Perform teardown of truck and prepare for repair work.
- Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
- Supplies and maintains personal tools and equipment to complete repairs.
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
- Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
- Perform and sign-off on all quality check before sending truck to paint department.
- Re-assemble painted truck and painted parts.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Perform a final quality check and review of work order prior to sending the truck to the detail department.
