Position Purpose:
The Director, Syndications will be responsible for leading the syndication efforts of the company’s equipment finance portfolio. This role involves managing relationships with financial institutions, negotiating syndication agreements, and ensuring the successful execution of syndication transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, a deep understanding of the equipment leasing market specifically deal structuring and credit/asset-based pricing, and a proven track record in syndications and capital markets.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for syndicating equipment leases to financial institutions, investors, and other funding sources.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, investors, and other syndication partners.
- Lead the negotiation of syndication terms, conditions, and agreements to ensure favorable outcomes for the company.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of syndication proposals, including financial analysis, risk assessments, and marketing materials.
- Work with the sales origination team members to develop pricing proposals that mutually meet clients’ needs and ability to syndicate the lease. Advise sales on deal structuring, pricing, etc. based on asset type and credit profile.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, credit, and legal, to ensure seamless execution of syndication transactions.
- Monitor and manage the performance of syndicated portfolios, providing regular updates and reports to senior management.
- Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to identify new syndication opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry conferences (ELFA, etc.), events, and meetings to enhance the company’s profile and network within the syndication community.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members involved in syndication activities.
- Continuously learn, share, and implement improvements in all processes and responsibilities as needed to enhance the effectiveness of providing world-class service and support.
Knowledge Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing syndication transactions.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, credit analysis, and risk management principles.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including financial institutions, investors, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial services, with a focus on syndications, equipment leasing, or related areas.
