Position Purpose:
The Inventory Specialist I is a crucial member of the Asset Optimization team and will ensure successful transportation of equipment to and from the customer through all TEL locations. They will also have the responsibility to create a best-in-class customer experience at every interaction. This individual will have an established knowledge in logistics, tracking and tracing equipment, inventory control and invoice paying.
Position Responsibilities:
- Continuously learn, share, and implement improvements in all processes and responsibilities as needed to enhance effectiveness of providing world class service and support.
- Coordinate the movement of trailers through our established logistics partners at the most cost-effective rates for our customers and sales teams.
- Tracking units as they move through the life cycle, with a detailed approach to keeping inventory and status’ updated.
- Ensure all trailer moves are tracked from origin to final destination, monitoring transportation companies use of the equipment, ensuring it is not in excess.
- Work with OEM’s on all new trailers ensuring all make ready and delivery expectations are met, to include dry van and reefers.
- Build new relationships with vendors to increase our velocity of equipment delivery.
- Wholistically coordinate from start to finish the repossession and recovery of assets, providing meaningful weekly updates on status to the management and collections teams.
- Manage, track and update equipment status as it moves in and out of TEL Yards.
- Accurately interpret P&D cases, coordinating all work/ transportation through the shop or vendors, while keeping the cases updated with real time information.
- Process, review and pay invoices as they relate to the transportation within the Asset team.
- Maintain the company’s standards for ethical business practices, professional image, orderliness, customer service, and good employee and community relations.
- Collaborate cross functionally with all other departments as required.
- Participate in the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures as appropriate.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as required to meet business needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years Customer service experience preferred.
- Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain collaborative and effective cross-functional working relationships.
- Take ownership of assigned work projects.
- Apply critical thinking skills to effectively analyze information and form judgments.
- Possess a Customer Service mindset and familiarity with equipment inventory processes.
- Exhibit strong time management and record-keeping abilities.
- Demonstrate the ability to concentrate and accomplish tasks despite interruptions.
- Multitask effectively, performing a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiently use computers and business machines.
- Collaborate effectively as a team player.
- Above average computer proficiency.
