Position Purpose:
Transport Enterprise Leasing, LLC (TEL) is a prominent player in the Class 8 tractor and trailer leasing industry, boasting more than 30 years of experience. With a rapidly expanding fleet of over 2500 tractors and 7000 trailers, TEL continues to thrive. Our corporate office is in Chattanooga, TN, while our brand-new, state-of-the-art 56,000 sq. ft. facility is based in Greenfield, IN.
The Service Manager at our Greenfield facility oversees the timely management of our reconditioning process. Leading the Mechanical, Trailer, and Body shops, they serve as the subject matter expert for each business unit. By exemplifying leadership, planning, prioritizing safety, and driving urgency, the Service Manager orchestrates throughput. Employee development, process accountability, continuous improvement, and meeting KPIs are critical aspects of this role.
Position Responsibilities:
- Continuously learn, share, and implement improvements in all processes and responsibilities to enhance the effectiveness of providing world-class service and support.
- Manage all aspects of the reconditioning process, ensuring timely availability of equipment while maintaining reasonable repair costs.
- Lead and implement the understanding of established labor times.
- Adjudicate and process service and body shop tickets with accuracy.
- Identify process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and establish best practices.
- Manage warranty administration and compliance, as well as shop facilities and equipment.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for equipment reconditioning at all stages.
- Develop strong relationships with external vendors to facilitate cost-effective and timely repairs.
- Establish strategic maintenance plans and key performance indicators (KPIs), including shop efficiencies.
- Experience with tire maintenance and retread vendor management programs. Lead shop safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as OSHA.
- Develop and report on metrics that drive shop performance and results.
- Ensure timely and accurate inbound and outbound movements of equipment.
- Demonstrate forward and critical thinking to support the growth of the organization.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, providing upward feedback.
- Foster talent development through robust coaching and development plans.
- Cultivate a motivated and collaborative work environment.
Knowledge Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven hands-on leadership experience.
- Proficiency in using Karmak Fusion.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.

Education and Experience:
- Proven leadership experience.
- Education: bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in Class 8 fleet maintenance management and/or Class 8 dealership service.
