What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician/Trailer Mechanic position at Transport Services?
Transport Services is seeking an experienced professional to join our outstanding group of technicians in Cleveland, Ohio. The primary function of this position will be performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on semi-trailers in line with company and DOT standards. The primary function of the Service Technician is to perform preventative maintenance and various repairs on semi trailers and/or diesel trucks in line with company and DOT standards.
This is a full-time, first shift, hourly/non-exempt position. Technicians have the option to work four 10-hour days (7:00am - 5:30pm) or five 8-hour days (8:00am - 4:30pm). We offer a competitive hourly wage based on experience, plus uncapped efficiency bonus potential.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 1 years of applicable trailer mechanics or diesel mechanics experience
- Demonstrate diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
- Must provide own tools
- Self-motivated
- Hard-working
- Reliable
- Works well with others.
- Must be able to read and write
- Occasionally move parts and/or materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
- Must be able to bend
- Must be able to use power tools
- May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday
PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Welding/fabrication experience
- Commercial Driver’s License
- ASE certifications
- Diesel/Truck repair experience
- Electrical/Refrigeration experience
