The incumbent of this position will perform duties consistent with the Civil Service Classification Standard for this title in the Transportation Maintenance Residency Office. The selected candidate will process transactions; maintain records, documents and information; and produce correspondence, reports, charts, etc. Candidates must be able to read, understand and apply procedures, rules, regulations, and laws. Duties include, but are not limited to: maintaining residency inventory; sorting and distributing mail; maintaining records and files; Data entry for databases, SFS and MMS; answering telephones and appropriately responding to or referring inquiries made by employees, vendors and customers; maintaining Department databases; providing assistance to the Transportation Office Assistant 2 in the administration of the Residency program, which may include Personnel, Purchasing and Training activities, such as hiring and promoting employees and employee orientations, assisting with ordering supplies, purchase orders and vouchers, and tracking and entering SLMS data. Preferred candidates will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
