Hourly Wage plus $3000 annual stipend
POSITION SUMMARY:
To ensure a safe and efficient transportation program which allows access to a complete range of curricular and extracurricular activities to all students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises and evaluates district transportation personnel;
- Maintains accurate records of training and testing of transportation personnel;
- Maintains safety standards in confirmation with state and insurance regulations and develops programs for preventative safety;
- Develops and implements emergency response procedures for accidents, incidents, and student evacuations, to include maintaining student transportation route data in the transportation database;
- Implements and manages Transfinder Pro Software System to guide Transportation Department operations;
- Provides organizational development training for other department members;
- Actively seeks and implements ways to improve the efficiency, cost effectiveness, and quality of operations;
- Ensures maintenance of district-owned vehicles and conducts preventive maintenance planning on a routine basis;
- Supervises the diagnosing and repairing of District automotive equipment;
- Prepares all bus schedules and routes for schools in the District;
- Assumes responsibility for the overall planning and scheduling of the use of all District vehicles;
- Cooperates in promptly solving discipline problems and complaints occurring on school buses;
- Is available to respond to transportation related emergencies when required;
- Assists with the recruitment and training of all transportation personnel;
- Complies with all rules, regulations and policies of the Governing Board.
- Maintains appropriate Arizona driving license and certificate required for the operation of school buses and vehicles;
- Must be able to successfully pass an ADOT physical performance test.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Must acquire and maintain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement;
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma; college preferred
- Four years of experience in transportation
- General Operations experience preferred;
- Knowledge of state laws and regulations governing transportation of students;
- Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Computer Skills – Demonstrated competency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing.
- Communication Skills – Ability to read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals. Ability to write general correspondence and speak effectively with others.
- Math Ability – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms. Ability to apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.

- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee occasionally will stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Employee will frequently interact with the public and other staff members. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
