What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Drivers (Multiple Routes Available) (2024-2025) - Transportation position at Transportation Department?
This position is for the 2024-2025 school year.
Operate a school bus over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, picking up and discharging students; provide safe and efficient transportation for district students to and from school, special events and field trips; perform daily inspections and operator maintenance of vehicle; assist in the loading and unloading of physically and mentally handicapped students as necessary.
These positions can range from 6.5-8 hours per day and 170 student instructional days, 4 holidays, 5 extended days for a total of 179 days per year. Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date. (Considered full time with benefits - see below)
- Must have a High School diploma or GED or CDL License with School Bus and Passenger Endorsement.
New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)
Step 0: $20.40
Step 10: $22.53
Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year-long contract and divided by the number of remaining paychecks. This position is considered a ten month employee on the pay schedule. 4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.
