What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Maintenance position at Transportation Department?
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Has knowledge in all of the trades including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, grounds maintenance, etc.
- Able to operate a variety of machines including a backhoe.
- Ability to perform physically strenous tasks including being able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring walking, stooping, squatting, and climbing. Must also be able to work from scaffolding.
- Ability to read and interpret written work assignments.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and staff.
- Able to obtain or possess an Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Reports To: Director of Maintenance and Transportation
Job Goal: To use skills and knowledge to maintain the district's facilities in a safe and fully operational condition.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Performs repair, construction, alteration, and other maintenance functions.
- Performs preventative maintenance to district facilities and equipment according to established schedules.
- Completes work in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and welding as assigned.
- May assist in maintenance of school grounds as necessary.
- Operates heavy equipment as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Terms of Employment: 12 months. Salary established by the Governing Board. Employee benefits in accordance with district policies.
