POSITION:                                TIMS /  Secretary

QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of college or technical school OR Three to five years of secretarial experience OR an equivalent combination of training/experience. Possess a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google  document application

DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for establishing routes and entering data into the TIMS database
• Serves as system operator for the TIMS database, performing necessary backups and computer maintenance
• Periodically performs updates to the TIMS student file from Infinite Campus
• Works with the TIMS Coordinator regarding route changes and updating information for Central Office
• Develop, edit and maintain bus stop, run and route records in the TIMS database according to state policies
• Print transportation and student reports as well as maps for district personnel
• Support and maintain communication with central office administration, principals, bus drivers as well as state transportation staff.
• Gather and evaluate information pertaining to streets, addresses, speed and direction of travel, etc. and enter this information into the TIMS geographic modules.
• Assist answering telephone, including screening of calls and relaying correct information to appropriate personnel
• Assist with reporting daily bus calls and entering into call in sheet
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Obtain Class B CDL with P & S Endorsement
• Reports to the Transportation Director

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS

AND ABILITIES:   

• Knowledge of TIMS (Transportation Information Management System)
• Knowledge of office practices and procedures
• Working knowledge of mobile handheld devices
• Ability to access information through a computer network
• Ability to read a map
• Ability to deal effectively with staff and the public, face to face and by phone
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
• Flexible work hours
