JOB SUMMARY:
The Asset Sales Manager is responsible for managing the daily sales and service coordination of the used equipment being retired from Wilson’s fleet. Included with this position is the primary responsibility of the Wilson Truck and Trailer dealership located in Springfield, MO. Within the first year of assignment, this location will likely be relocated to Wilson’s new campus in Strafford, MO and the same responsibilities and requirements will apply.
The Asset Sales Manager will be compensated with a base annual salary plus an incentive paid on a per piece or per package of equipment sold, processed, and successfully delivered. Sale price ranges will be approved by the CEO, President or COO with the Asset Sales Manager expected to expedite coordination of the equipment being made ready through final sale, delivery, and proper execution of all documents, including sale proceeds collected. The Asset Sales Manager is expected to work in a team environment with Fleet Services, specifically with the Shop Supervisor, in the coordination of equipment being made ready for sale, as well as the Finance Accounting department on all required paperwork and filings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and direct the marketing and sales efforts that positively impact the ability to timely market Wilson’s used equipment as it is retired (placed out-of-service) from the fleet.
- Fully understand the specifications of equipment being marketed and constantly maintain knowledge of the various component manufacturers’ feature differences.
- Become and maintain the status as the resident expert of Wilson’s equipment specifications and features.
- Work in and drive a fast-paced environment to sell used inventory within given parameters, while improving and reducing days from out-of-service to sold, which includes sale proceeds collected, and all paperwork completed.
- Understand the industry market trends of equipment demands and final sale price of comparable equipment to what Wilson is selling.
- Work in a team environment, primarily with the Shop Supervisor, to coordinate equipment readiness while understanding that we must also have equipment ready for assignment to drivers and Independent Contractors on a timely basis.
- Successfully execute the complete process by providing an industry best buying experience for the customer and includes the coordination with lenders and financing options.
- This position will have direct responsibility for the sale, process flow and timely succession of Wilson’s used equipment accompanied with the authority to be flexible and modify programs, processes and customize transactions to legally and ethically close successful sale transactions.
- Responsible for owning outcomes of key performance indicators and the timely and accurate reporting, typically through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting with an emphasis on producing accurate and timely outcomes reviewed timely through department management reviews.
- Equipment Asset Management meetings are to be scheduled and heard by Senior Management every other week on a regular sequence, with the purpose to review the KPI’s and gain feedback on accelerated or decelerated, based on company need of, seated trucks.
OTHER DUTIES
- Timely attendance, matching the published dealership hours is an essential function of the position with any outside activities taking a low priority to the primary duty of being available on site with the Wilson team.
- Thorough, timely, and complete communication with key management team members/co-workers and most importantly the COO.
- Regularly required and requested reports, including ensuring we comply with our Missouri Dealers License are considered primary duties of this position.
- Development and placement of advertising related to the sale of used equipment.
- Deal head on through closure, any and all customer complaints with professionalism and the long-term goal of developing a “Customer for Life” approach and result.
- Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Must demonstrate the ultimate high level of integrity by never being subject to the temptations of leveraging a deal that may de-value Wilson’s business, reputation and profitability.
- Strong customer service skills by creating a strong and trustful working relationship with existing and potential customers.
- Develop and maintain the technical skills necessary with our internal systems and process for all transactions.
- Develop and maintain the highest level of integrity in negotiating the sale of Wilson’s used equipment, while always improving negotiating skills and strategy.
- Maintain positive listening, organizational, adaptability, and financial skills as necessary.
- General knowledge and understanding of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration regulations as they deal with equipment requirements.
- Exceptional and professional communication skills both written and verbal.
- Attention to details and attendance are essential functions of the position. Because our used equipment dealership is governed by the State of Missouri, this position must make themselves available at the sales location the days and times of day, as on file with the State of Missouri.
- Obtaining and maintaining a Class A CDL in good standing is considered a plus in this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in a professional office and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, cameras, and fax machines. Attendance at the assigned location is an essential function of this position with some travel required on occasion. Wilson’s strong safety culture must be demonstrated by the person in this position and is expected to comply with all local, State and Federal regulations, to include wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment as required.
