Operations Support – Part-Time/Temporary

TMS has two main areas of operations business: Commercial and Government services.
On the Commercial side, TMS manages over 100 conventions and special events annually, including notable events such as NAB, AHR, the NBA Finals & All-Star games, the Kentucky Derby, PGA golf tournaments, and music festivals like Burning Man and Coachella.
On the Government side, TMS serves as a contractor for FEMA’s Mass Care, Emergency Assistance, Housing, and Evacuation Support Contract, providing emergency evacuation support to FEMA, state, and local governments.
Position Overview:
TMS frequently seeks to engage qualified temporary employees to support large events nationwide. These part-time, temporary positions are event-based, with no guarantee of ongoing work; however, additional opportunities may be offered based on performance. Employment with TMS is at-will and neither this description nor any other oral or written representations may be considered a contract guaranteeing continued employment for any specific period of time.
Reporting Structure:
Operations Support staff will report directly to the designated Account Manager, Operations Manager, or other TMS Managers responsible for overseeing the specific event(s) to which they are assigned. Team members will be informed of their reporting structure at the start of each event and will report to the appropriate manager accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support TMS managers, supervisors, and team members in all aspects of event operations.
- Dispatch buses at various load zones and staging areas.
- Use counters to track and load the correct number of passengers onto buses.
- Collect and report daily ridership information using TMS’ system.
- Politely address passenger questions and concerns.
- Provide directions and break schedules to bus drivers.
- Ensure buses run consistently and remain on schedule.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to event guests and passengers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and follow directions.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Customer Service Experience is preferred.
- Ability to work long hours while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
- Remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency with cell phones or two-way radios for communication.
- Willingness to learn and use the TMS ridership application and tracking systems.
- Ability to travel
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a satisfactory background check, which may include verification of criminal history, employment history, education, and other relevant factors.
Working Conditions:
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, lift, and carry as needed.
- Capability to reach above shoulder height.
- Assist passengers in wheelchairs when necessary.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
