Position Description :
Purpose
The intern will provide valuable drafting and CAD support for multiple projects across the Bio, DML, and CW groups, helping to update critical documentation and design files. Their contributions will improve efficiency in drawing package updates, assembly instruction revisions, and part designs for the machine shop, allowing engineers to focus on testing and validation efforts.
Essential Functions
Prepare drawings of test equipment to be manufactured from layouts, models, or sketches
Provide technical and mechanical design support to project teams
Coordinate project schedule changes and scope of work with project teams

Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)
Assist in the development of proposals and plans for research programs
Represent the customer and TRC to external contacts
Interpret technical standards as they apply to drawings
Interpret and understand technical drawings
Compare technical drawings to physical parts
Support TRC Inc.s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) efforts
Qualifications
High school diploma is required
Formal drafting education and / or drafting experience required
General knowledge of mechanical components or equipment
General knowledge of electronics components as they relate to technical drawings
Proficient in CAD 2-D techniques
Skilled in basic technical measuring techniques
Basic computer skills with required proficiency in the use of computers and associated software programs as they relate to CAD
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organization skills

Physical requirements
Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time
