Position Description :
We're seeking a passionate and results-oriented Test Engineer Team Leader to join our dynamic team. In this leadership role, you will lead a team of engineers in evaluating cutting-edge sensing and perception systems for autonomous vehicles, champion innovative testing methodologies, drive team growth, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable systems.
Essential Functions
Lead & Mentor :
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Test Engineers.
Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
Own the Testing Process :
Define and execute rigorous test plans and verification strategies aligned with system requirements and customer needs.
Drive root cause analysis of test failures and collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
Deliver High-Impact Results :
Lead end-to-end sensing and perception test campaigns, ensuring on-time delivery and meeting critical business objectives.
Effectively communicate test results and progress to both internal and external stakeholders.
Understand core test objective, adjust tests plans around constraints, and make independent judgement calls.
Drive Innovation & Efficiency :
Develop and implement innovative testing methodologies to improve quality, efficiency, and scalability.
Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance team productivity and overall test effectiveness.
Develop & Grow the Team :
Develop and maintain a comprehensive Test Engineering training curriculum.
Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
Ensure adequate staffing levels and contribute to the strategic growth and development of the testing organization.
Apply policies, procedures, standards, code of conduct throughout including taking responsibility for the safety of self and others during testing.
Ensure any test variants / plans are approved by appropriate safety committees

Additional Information : Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)
Travel to off-site customers and testing sites
Communicate test plans, proposals, non-conformances, and project status to internal and external customers
Manage project budgets
Make independent and competent technical decisions
Present proposals and report test results before customer representatives
Write technical reports
Accomplish technical projects with little supervision
Manage and monitor the progress and budget of multiple projects
Write final reports with little to no supervision
Support TRC Inc.s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) efforts
Improve the quality and coverage of the verification of a system
Build new processes that improve organization, traceability and clarity
Develop new tools that improve the repeatability, efficiency or completeness of testing (e.g. building automation scripts to reduce schedule time and human resources for recurring tests)
Create new test frameworks and capabilities, including simulation based, hardware in the loop, or other methods
Identify missing or untestable requirements, gaps in design and incomplete implementation
Build dashboards and other visualizations within existing toolsets to make it easier for all stakeholders to interpret test results.
Support development and execution of training for test team
