Job Overview
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Transportation Security Officers. Responsibilities
- Operate various screening equipment and technology to identify potential security threats and prevent them from entering the sterile area.
- Perform searches and screenings of passengers, luggage, and cargo, using physical interaction when necessary.
- Control terminal entry and exit points, interacting with the public to provide directions and respond to inquiries.
- Maintain focus and awareness while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple distractions.
- Engage in continuous development of critical thinking skills to mitigate actual and potential security threats.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
- Selective Service registration is required.
- Pass a structured interview, drug screening, medical evaluation, and background investigation.
- Be available to work various shifts and overtime, as needed.
- Be proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking, comprehending).
- Travel for training and occasional travel may be required.
