POSITION SUMMARY
Safely operate an assigned school bus for transporting students from home to school and/or to and from school-related events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Cooperates with school officials to provide safe and efficient transportation for students.
Maintains an assigned schedule on a specific route and consults with the supervisor or dispatcher regarding suggested changes.
Maintains acceptable standards of conduct and dress.
Maintains courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with parents, students, school staff, school officials, and all levels of employees.
Works the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks.
Performs related duties as necessary and as assigned by the supervisor for transportation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate must be eighteen (18) years of age, at the minimum.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Candidate must possess a valid and active Virginia Driver's License.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
None
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Minimal travel within the City of Lynchburg.
