What are the responsibilities and job description for the Van Driver VBISD Special Education position at Transportation?
Job Goals:
The overall job goal of the Special Education Van Driver is to provide safe operation of the school bus, according to good judgment and the laws of the State of Michigan.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Certification:
Chauffeur's License is required.
Work Experience:
Previous experience as a driver is preferred
Essential Job Functions:
- Must pass an agility test to ensure the ability to perform the required duties and to move in, around, and out of the vehicle safely.
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Skills & Duties:
- Maintain a current list of students picked up, in order of pick up.
- Notify the transportation office of student address changes.
- Deliver students to assigned buildings promptly.
- Discontinue van service to a particular student only when notified to do so by the transportation office.
- Assist the school in communicating with the home and vice-versa.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.
Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
